The Victor (Pobednik) statue
Description
The Victor (Pobednik) statue, after Meštrović’s famous Kalemegdan monument and symbol of Belgrade – a souvenir for guests, partners and city lovers.
In the Upper Town of the Belgrade Fortress, high above the confluence of the Sava and the Danube, stands the Victor (Pobednik), the work of sculptor Ivan Meštrović, erected in 1928. The monument was raised to commemorate the victories of the Serbian army in the Balkan Wars and World War I. The Victor gazes out over the expanses of the Pannonian Plain, and the figure has long been one of Belgrade’s most recognizable symbols.
This Victor statue is part of our collection of souvenirs with Belgrade motifs. It suits a desk, shelf, display cabinet or reception and recalls a walk through Kalemegdan and the sunset over the confluence. It is an excellent choice for visitors from abroad, for business and official gifts, and for Belgraders living far from their city who want a piece of Kalemegdan at home. It is also a fine gift for Expo 2027 guests getting to know Belgrade for the first time.
